The Blind Date Fell Through, but the Matchmaker Became My Partner

Ye Zhining is twenty-nine. She has nothing against getting married, but she has no intention of marrying just anyone for the sake of it.

A friend sets her up on a blind date.

On the evening they are supposed to meet, her date cancels at the last minute. Instead, Zhou Chengan, the friend who arranged the introduction, shows up.

What was meant to be a dinner to apologize on someone else's behalf turns into a conversation that lasts from six thirty until the restaurant closes.

The next day, her blind date officially withdraws.

Ye Zhining says offhandedly, "Looks like I'll have to keep going on blind dates."

Zhou Chengan asks, "What kind of person are you looking for?"

She seriously lists her requirements: "Emotionally stable, good at communicating, and respectful of boundaries."

Then she asks, "What, are you going to introduce me to someone?"

Zhou Chengan looks at her. "I know someone."

"Who?"

"Me."

Only later does Ye Zhining realize that the blind date that went nowhere had brought the most suitable man right to her door.
