Three-Year-Old Cutie Patrols the Mountains on a Northeast Tiger in the 1980s

In 1980, three-and-a-half-year-old Lin Jiu'er is the village's much-hated "jinx." Her parents died in the line of duty, and her wicked second aunt plans to sell her as a child bride to a fool. Clutching half a jade pendant left by her mother and carrying a bag of fried flour, little Jiu'er runs away from home to find her uncle, a soldier.

Who knew this little girl had an extraordinary gift? She can understand the thoughts of every animal! Along the way, she saves an injured black bear, tames Da Pang, a cowardly Siberian tiger, and recruits a wolf pack with a Northeastern accent. When she rides into the border garrison on a 300-jin tiger with white forehead stripes, followed by a black bear, a golden eagle, and a whole pack of wolves, the entire company goes wild!

"Uncle! Jiu'er came to find you!"

From then on, the 38th Corps in the northern borderlands has a little darling whom everyone adores. The Siberian tiger guards the gate, the golden eagle delivers messages, and the wild boars lead the way to dig for ginseng. With her "Beast Army," little Jiu'er catches spies, rescues her comrades, and guards the border, while scaring her second aunt's family witless when they come after the jade pendant.

This is a story of courage, healing, and growing up. In an era of scarcity, one little girl uses her innocence and kindness to turn the cold borderlands into a warm home.
