Apocalypse: Insect Tide, Conscripted by the National Team from the Start

A contagious outbreak erupts in Xia Family Village. More than two thousand villagers and all seven thousand mu of farmland lose contact with the outside world.

Jiang Xiaoshuai's fiancee, Xia Ningrao, had just returned to the village, and now she's missing.

Just as Jiang Xiaoshuai is going out of his mind with worry, the shopping mall's domed ceiling explodes. Six mutated red-eyed soldier ants, each 1.8 meters long, vault over more than a hundred people on the ground floor and charge straight toward the second floor, locking onto him.

A special task force from the Great Xia Seventh District Special Ability Management Base fast-ropes in. Heavy weapons blast the insect swarm to pieces.

Jiang Xiaoshuai is taken to an interrogation room 300 meters underground. The long-legged special operations captain, Zhou Xueqi, slams a gun onto the table and demands he reveal the trump card that has made monsters hunt him specifically.

Xia Family Village is tightly sealed off by a dark-red membrane of living flesh.

All conventional government weapons have failed. Jiang Xiaoshuai is the only way to break through the barrier.

To save his girlfriend, Jiang Xiaoshuai is forced to join the Seventh District task force. Along with an old man who plays with fire and a genetically modified man released from prison, he rappels into the depths through the seemingly bottomless natural caverns of Tianlao Mountain.

The caves are home to human-faced spiders, heavily armored insect swarms, and the fanatical followers of the secretive Xuanyuan Cult.

After a bloody battle, they reach the Death-Sleep Zone two thousand meters underground. The beam of a powerful flashlight illuminates a vast, boundless forest of stone pillars.

Hundreds, even thousands, of translucent flesh sacs hang upside down in midair, their occupants drained of life to provide energy.

Hundreds of pairs of pitch-black, lifeless eyes stare straight at them.
