The Mortician: I Can See the Rules Above the Living

At dawn, I got a call to handle an assignment from the funeral home: 26-year-old Su Xiao had died in her rental apartment.

I'm Chen Rang, a mortician. In four years, I've seen 137 bodies.

After that night, I started seeing words above everyone's heads.

Above the deceased Su Xiao: Must not reveal the truth.

Above the deceased woman's aunt: Must not let her know I'm going to die.

I wrote myself a rule: Must not let anyone living die because of me.

The moment I finished, a text arrived from an unknown number: You're done writing.

Three years ago, she signed her own death certificate. The dead woman's signature was still there three years later. Someone was keeping watch over what happened that year, hidden in the shadows.

I can see the words above everyone's heads, but I can't see what's above my own.

What, exactly, does that line say?
