[Soul Swap + Wrongly Assigned Plotlines + Court Intrigue + Misaligned Romance]
After Jiang Tian transmigrates into a book she has never read,
and lives through her third life,
she starts off fatally stabbing the emperor who has twice ordered her execution.
Only as she lies dying does she activate the blue cat System, which is supposed to save the story's plot.
This trainee System spends its only points to save them both. By a twist of fate, it then assigns them the wrong plot missions.
The heroine, Jiang Tian, gets the mission to become a wise ruler.
The unlucky emperor gets the mission to fight for favor and bring about his own downfall.
Jiang Tian says, "I'm so overwhelmed. How about I die again and start over?"
The unlucky emperor shakes his head. "I still haven't become a good ruler, earned the people's love, or made my name live on through the ages."
Seeing that its Host insists on dying, the blue cat System has no choice but to look for a solution in the shop. It goes into debt for points to buy pills, tricks them both into taking them, and then the emperor and Jiang Tian, who has come in as Noble Lady Jiang, swap souls.
The blue cat System says guiltily, "Now your missions match! If you complete yours, Host, you'll get a three-hundred-million bonus, ten extra years of life, and a return to the real world."
If Emperor Xiao Qingyuan completes his mission, he'll be rewarded with peace and prosperity, wealth beyond measure, and a name that will live on through the ages.
Jiang Tian is at a loss for words. "System, it's not that I can't complete it..."
Emperor Xiao Qingyuan has no choice but to accept. "Then let's switch bodies and do the missions!"
After that, Jiang Tian secretly seeks out loyal ministers, battles powerful officials and aristocratic clans, quietly opens up wasteland to grow grain, takes things from the System to move the plot along, and can't stop thinking about the sickly, handsome chief minister.
Meanwhile, Xiao Qingyuan beats the consorts in the harem, fights for control of it, and puts the imperial consorts through all kinds of training.
