The God of Memory Descends: Meng Po Takes Charge of the Forgotten River for Me

[Xianxia Fantasy] [Underworld Bureaucracy] [Rivalry for the Immortal Court] [Male-Oriented Power Fantasy] [War Between the Three Realms]

Gu Changsheng is burned out of the register of the dead and falls into the underworld, only to discover at the Sunken Soul Platform that he had already died once before.

Three hundred years ago, he was the God of Memory, who safeguarded the memories of all living beings, until the Immortal Realm and the underworld joined forces to hunt him down. Three hundred years later, he awakens again as an orphan in the mortal realm. With a black sword and a cloud of gray mist, he slays the judges of the dead, seizes the origin of King Yama, and devours the laws of the immortal registers, fighting his way from the Sunken Soul Platform to the Immortal Court's Thunder Pool.

Meng Po's memories have been stolen, the remnant soul of the God of Memory is imprisoned in a soul lamp, and countless mortals' names have been refined into soul crystals. As Gu Changsheng investigates, he discovers that the exalted immortal registers promising eternal life are forged from the memories and soulflames of all living beings across the Three Realms.

When the Memory Devourer opens its eyes in the depths of the sea of memories, Gu Changsheng finally learns that the gray mist is not his golden finger. It is the other half of himself, which he severed with his own hands in his previous life.

This time, he will reclaim his divine soul, restore Meng Po's memories, and collect every debt owed by the Immortal Court, the underworld, and the sea of memories, one by one.
