The Young Master of the Seventies

Period novel | Two male leads | Natives | No cheat abilities | Both leads are each other's only ones | Size difference early on | Unaware of his own love

A sudden upheaval casts Liu Huaisu, raised among books since childhood, into the muddy cattle shed. Born with a heart condition, he struggles to make his way in the harsh countryside.

Chen Jingming, out hunting in the mountains, meets a boy secretly crying in the forest at dusk. The dark, sturdy young mountain man had thought his life would be spent among the woods, traps, and farm work. From then on, though, he can't let go of that pale, delicate figure.

With little medicine, scarce supplies, restrictive policies, and everyone on edge in the impoverished 1970s, the mountains of Hanling bear witness to their meeting. Hardship cannot suppress the stirrings of the heart, and time cannot bury true feelings. In this desolate world, he reaches out and embraces the entirety of the other's remaining life.
