The Wicked Marchioness Refuses to Clear Her Name, and the Marquis Begs to Reconcile

[Historical feel-good revenge | No whitewashing | The whole family stands together | The marquis pursues his wife]

Sang Qian transmigrates into a book and becomes the wicked matriarch whom everyone in Great Qi despises and reviles.

When she opens her eyes, two beautiful concubines are kneeling before her, trembling. After going over the original owner’s memories, Sang Qian can only think how absurd it all is.

She and the Marquis of Ping’an were betrothed by imperial decree, a match made in heaven. But on their wedding day, the marquis defied the marriage by taking concubines in front of everyone, deliberately setting himself against her.

Not only did he foist two beautiful concubines on her, he also forced three children on her to raise, deliberately making her life miserable.

On the second day of their marriage, the Marquis of Ping’an even volunteered to guard the border! He would rather travel to the distant desert and endure five years of bitter cold and blowing sand than stay in the capital and look at her. The original owner was obsessive and meek, madly in love and desperately clingy. In the end, she earned a terrible reputation and died a miserable death.

You expect her to redeem herself and save her own skin? Dream on!

She is the most beloved granddaughter of the Grand Princess, the emperor’s own cousin’s niece, and a daughter of a distinguished family, born to wealth and privilege. Why should she abase herself for a faithless scoundrel?

If he has the nerve, let him divorce her with a letter. If he doesn’t, he can sit back and watch her secure her place as the matriarch of the marquis’s household!

From then on, Sang Qian lets loose completely. The wicked matriarch everyone once feared leads the entire family to a life of luxury, throwing her weight around the capital with no one daring to cross her. She lives in carefree comfort.

The cold and heartless Marquis of Ping’an returns to the capital on imperial orders to report on his duties. The moment he steps into the estate, he’s completely dumbfounded.

His wife and concubines get along, his sons obey, and the whole family lives in harmony. The sprawling marquis’s estate has already become the Sang family’s domain!

Seeing his lovely wife adored by the whole family and living in splendor, the aloof marquis finally loses it. With red-rimmed eyes, he fights to reclaim his authority:

“Everyone, get out! She’s my wife! No one else is allowed to covet her!”
