Father, Start a Rebellion! I, the Heir, Am Done Pretending!

After transmigrating to Great Xia, Gu Changyuan becomes the heir to the Prince of Zhenbei, a man whose achievements have grown so great that they overshadow the emperor.

The emperor is wary of him, and an imperial edict orders him to the capital within three days. Officially, he is to be a study companion; in truth, he is being held hostage.

But his father, the Prince of Zhenbei, kneels in the hall with tears streaming down his face. "My son, when you go, you must remain loyal to the emperor and the country, and bide your time!"

Gu Changyuan laughs.

With a blade already at my throat, you still expect me to bide my time?

Sorry, but I'm coming clean.

[Rebellion Incitement System activated: Every time the Host successfully draws someone's hatred, he can exchange it for provisions, weapons, intelligence, or mighty generals. The greater the hatred, the more incredible the reward.]

And so Gu Changyuan begins an all-out campaign of courting death:

The emperor sends an inspector to oversee the army? He cuts him down and feeds him to the dogs, earning 10,000 hatred points!

The crown prince comes to the northern frontier on a "pacification mission"? He hangs him from the city wall to catch a cold breeze, earning 50,000 hatred points!

The court cuts off food supplies? He turns around and steals the emperor's private stash to fund the army, sending his hatred points through the roof!

The capital is furious, and a million-strong army marches to the city gates.

The Prince of Zhenbei kneels in the snow and cries to the heavens: "You rebellious brat! Are you trying to make your father a traitor?"

Gu Changyuan kicks aside the command table and drapes the imperial robe over his father's shoulders. "Father, if you don't rebel soon, I'll have to ascend the throne myself and make you the Retired Emperor!"

But Gu Changyuan has never realized that when the Prince of Zhenbei, whom he considers a "foolishly loyal father," stands alone at night before a portrait, there is something in his eyes that Gu Changyuan cannot understand...

Is the throne of Great Xia really coveted by only one Gu family?
