A Family of Loyal Heroes: My Rebellion Leaves My Father Dumbfounded!

After transmigrating into the Great Qian dynasty, he found himself in a family famed for generations of loyal service, with a household full of martyrs. But they had the misfortune to serve a foolish emperor who believed slander. At noon the next day, the entire Duke of Zhenguo’s household was to be executed! His father knelt in the ancestral hall, tears streaming down his face. “When the ruler orders a subject to die, he has no choice but to obey! My son, prepare for your end. At least our good name will live on!” Chu Zheng looked at his father’s foolishly loyal face, sighed, and silently fired a signal arrow. That night, he led the 3,000 heavily armored death soldiers he had secretly trained for ten years straight into the imperial palace and cut off the foolish emperor’s head. Early the next morning, his father put on his prison clothes, ready to go to the execution grounds. Instead, he saw Chu Zheng in a five-clawed golden dragon robe, sitting on the throne and beckoning with a smile. “Father, that foolish emperor was going to kill us. I figured that since we were going to die anyway, we might as well rebel against him.” “Here, try on these clothes for the Retired Emperor. See if they fit.” His father’s eyes rolled back, and he fainted on the spot. … Years later, Chu Zheng, now ruler of a unified realm, looked at the assembled officials. “I never intended to become emperor. I only did it to save my father.” The ministers knelt and cried out, “His Majesty’s filial piety makes him an emperor for the ages, chosen by Heaven itself!” The Retired Emperor, Chu Zheng’s father, gazed at the world map in the harem, where the sun never set on his empire, and sank into deep thought. “Former Emperor, I truly never meant to usurp the throne. It’s all because that rebellious son of mine is too powerful!”
