The Dark Zone is the stage. If you have nothing to offer, don't show up!
Chang Yuchun was a veteran of Arena Breakout, a true old-school player.
A classmate got him hooked in 2021, and he had played for five whole years, grinding hard from the closed beta all the way to 2026.
That day, he logged on as usual, eager to see whether that old dog Vincent had gotten him any good loot.
But as soon as he entered the game, a pop-up suddenly appeared!
Memory required for this update: 20,000 TB
Chang Yuchun's eyes nearly popped out of his head. He cursed, "Are you messing with me, game devs?!"
A cold System voice suddenly rang out in his mind: [Ding! Strong desire to update detected in Host.]
Chang Yuchun was stunned, then furious. "What?! Personal System, could you be any more sneaky? How have I shown even the slightest desire to update?!"
As expected of the hellish Dark Zone. It never gave players the right to choose.
Before he could change his mind and refuse, the update forcibly began!
A flash of white light filled his vision, and Chang Yuchun fainted on the spot.
When he opened his eyes again, his head was splitting with pain.
He glanced at the time on his phone, then completely lost it. "What the hell, it's already the next night?! Where exactly did this update take me?!"
Just then, a pale blue holographic panel slowly opened in his mind...
[Dark Zone World System 1.0, binding successful!]
