In his previous life, Li Chenxi fought his way through every major lockdown zone in the Dark Zone, scraping together a warehouse full of gold gear and top-secret yellow cards. But at the extraction point, his teammates captured him with a Poké Ball. He lost all his supplies and died miserably among the ruins.
Reborn on the first day the Dark Zone went live, he awakened the [Universal Shard System].
Defeat an enemy and you can collect a shard corresponding to them. The stronger the opponent, the higher the chance they’ll drop a shard, and the higher its maximum grade. The drop tiers are clearly defined:
Ordinary scavenger bots and regular operators from Rookie to Ace rank only drop low-tier white and blue shards.
Only map-dominating squad bosses and top Dark Zone streamers with ten-star ranks or higher have a chance to drop rare purple and gold shards. The chance of a top-tier red shard dropping is extremely low: you can’t seek one out, only hope to stumble upon it.
