At the bottom of the Hongmeng Heavenly Prison, a crowd of ancient Immortal Emperors and peerless Demon Venerables kneel on the ground, trembling.
“Warden Shen Xian, we're begging you! You're already invincible in the world. Take our IOUs and get out of prison to wreak havoc on those fiancées of yours!”
Shen Xian is forced to go into town. He plans to break off his engagement as quickly as possible and return to prison to lie flat.
But as soon as he enters the city, he accidentally steps on and destroys the Demon-Sealing Formation the female head of the Demon Suppression Bureau is using to suppress a peerless great demon!
The iron-willed bureau chief, who is being pressured by her family to marry, lights up. She whips out a Heavenly Mandate Marriage Contract and slaps it against his forehead. “The demon escaped, so you're taking the blame! Sign the contract now and come home with me to pay off your debt!”
Holding the freshly signed marriage contract, Shen Xian lets out a long sigh. “A man really does need to protect himself when he's out in the world!”
The next day, his haughty saintess fiancée comes by and tosses down a divorce letter. “You country bumpkin from the mountains aren't worthy of marrying me!”
Shen Xian nods again and again, then casually pulls out the marriage contract. “Wonderful! Let me introduce you. This is the iron-willed bureau chief who controls your sect's lifeline, and also my brand-new wife.”
His former fiancée instantly collapses to the ground, crying and clinging to his leg as she begs to get back together.
Shen Xian kicks her away. “Get lost. Don't interrupt me while I'm enjoying my wife's support on the clock!”
