The New Official Takes Office!

The Ten Kings of Hell plan to take a group vacation. After many rounds of screening, they choose ten souls from the mortal realm who died by accident before their time, and appoint them as temporary substitutes.

A contract from the underworld seals the deal: serve out the term without incident, and they may return to the mortal world. Play favorites, pass unjust judgments, or disrupt the order of cause and effect, and they will be trapped in the underworld forever.

Once ordinary people with loved ones and regrets, they bring a mortal's full range of emotions with them. Now they sit on the thrones of the Kings of Hell, overseeing the tortures of the underworld, judging the good and evil of the dead, and deciding their paths through reincarnation.

Every soul has its own joys and sorrows, and even the sins they carry may have their reasons.

When the cold laws of heaven clash with compassion in the heart, how should mortals holding the power to pass judgment judge all living beings?
