[Historical Era + Mountain Hunting + Tough Hero Dotes on His Wife + Building a Fortune]

In 1961, during a year of famine, even the bark had been stripped from every tree in the Greater Khingan Range.

Special forces king Lu Zheng opened his eyes to find himself the most hated village bully in Kaoshan Village. By a twist of fate, he had also taken advantage of Lin Qingqiu, a young intellectual from Yanjing.

The production team pressured them into marriage. On their wedding night, his stunning bride, who had gone hungry for three days, pressed a pair of scissors to her throat and swore she would rather die than give in.

"Don't touch me! I'd rather die!"

Lu Zheng kicked in the rotten wooden door, snatched away the scissors, and sneered. "I'm not interested in a bag of bones. Stay home. I'll go into the mountains and get you some meat!"

From then on, a fearsome hunter who never missed a shot roamed the deep mountains.

While other families fought over half a jin of cornmeal, Lu Zheng's family ate pork and glass noodles stew at every meal. Its delicious aroma filled the courtyard, making the whole village's grasping relatives drool with envy.

He fought wild boars, hunted black bears, and dug up wild ginseng. Not only did he make a fortune on the black market, he also nourished the once sickly beauty into a plump, rosy-cheeked, delicate woman.

Three years later, his grandfather, a decorated military family patriarch, was cleared of all charges. He drove into the village in a jeep to bring his precious granddaughter back to the city.

But Lin Qingqiu, the beauty who had stunned everyone for miles around, wrapped her arms around Lu Zheng's waist and smiled like a flower. "Grandpa, I'm not going back to the city. Wherever my husband is, that's my home!"
