New Water Apricot Blossoms

The 1960s were a time of hunger. The honest, simple-minded young man Sha Dazhuang survives against all odds with his modern wilderness survival skills, eating every edible thing he can find in the fields.

He leads the villagers of Wangjiatun into the wilderness to find food, and eventually they make it through the years of famine (the famine lasted from 1958 to 1961).

Shuixing and Yanghua help Sha Dazhuang transform a poor village into a prosperous community earning a million a year.
