Ruirui Comes Down the Mountain to Find Her Parents, and Four Divine Beasts Take Charge

[Cute Kids with Mystical Powers] [Four Divine Beast Cubs] [Naturally Strong Little One] [The City's Bigwigs Compete to Feed Her] [Fortune-Telling, Wealth, and Warding Off Disaster]

The little girl who had been raised on the mountain for five years was heading down to find her parents.

The old Taoist priest had been feeling quite pleased, until he realized...

The little rascal had stuffed everything movable from the temple into the tiny scented pouch he had given her.

Clutching his chest, the old Taoist sat on the empty stone steps, regretting it so much his guts twisted into knots.

Even more outrageous, four unweaned beast cubs heard that Ruirui was going to find her parents and broke out of their cages in the middle of the night.

A little qilin tumbled four times on the field path but kept pushing forward. A little white tiger ran from a pheasant. A little vermilion bird flew three meters before dropping into the grass. And a little black tortoise... crawled two steps, then fell asleep.

At the foot of the mountain, Ruirui read the signs with her fingers and her eyes lit up. "You're running north? You little troublemakers think you can race me?"

As the saying goes, a person's character is apparent by the age of three. Ruirui's reading at three had already revealed that her dad was genuinely handsome, and genuinely lazy; her mom was a fantastic cook and had a wonderful temper.

So she had to hurry and bring them back, and round up the four cubs who were causing trouble everywhere along the way.

As for all the big shots kneeling along the road and begging her for guidance, Ruirui waved them off. "Get in line and take turns. Ruirui's time is precious."

"Little Ancestress, how old are you this year...?"

"Five and a half! What about it? Looking down on kids, are you?"

"We wouldn't dare!"

"So, which of you found my parents first?"

The four little beast cubs all lay sprawled on the muddy ground, gazing up at her hopefully.

None of them had found them.

Ruirui sighed. "All right, looks like I'll have to do everything myself."
