An Old Man Who Won't Die Is an Immortal

An officially authorized novel adaptation of Jiutian Manju's original short drama, Immortality in Old Age.

Chen Mu, a poor scholar in his sixties, has his ancestral burial ground seized by bullies. They break both his legs and abandon him in the mountains. At the end of his rope, he stumbles upon a spirit fruit and a family heirloom qi-and-blood jade pendant. Killing demons lets him absorb qi and blood to strengthen his body. Armed with his ancestral tiger-head broadsword, he returns home to punish evil and, by a stroke of fate, joins the Demon Suppression Bureau. He slays snake demons and storms an evil fortress, then learns that the Demon King of Blackwind Mountain plans to massacre a city and abduct children. The old scholar casts aside his brush and ink for a long blade and ventures into the demon-haunted mountains in his twilight years. With the jade pendant and the Eight Desolations Art, he battles the demons of the world and the wicked who devour people.
