The Swallow Returns to Your Heart

On the day of her wedding, Xiaoyanzi eagerly waits to marry the Fifth Prince. But when the veil is lifted, the man before her is Ertai.

He says the imperial edict has been issued. Xiaoyanzi can't escape.

Through her tears, Xiaoyanzi says, "But the person I've always wanted to marry was never you."

He lets go of her hand, lays a quilt on the floor, and sleeps with his back to her all night.

Only later does Xiaoyanzi learn that he poured his heart and soul into securing this marriage.

Later still, someone asks Xiaoyanzi if she regrets marrying him.

Looking at the man who takes the beating for her, kneels in the rain for her, and would give up his life for her, Xiaoyanzi smiles and says:

"I have never regretted it."
