The Porcelain Heart's Call

[No System + No Golden Finger + Not Reborn + Strong Female and Male Leads]

In the Great Yan Dynasty, Jingci Town was renowned as the nation's finest center for porcelain. Its four great kilns, Shen, Zhao, Qian, and Sun, had produced porcelain for generations, each with its own specialty. The Shen family had earned fame across the land for its celadon glaze. With eight generations of tradition, it stood at the head of the four kiln families.

The Shen family's eldest daughter, Shen Yao, had learned porcelain-making from her father since childhood. She mastered every step, from selecting materials and throwing clay to glazing and firing. She also possessed exceptional business acumen and insight into people's hearts. However, the Great Yan Dynasty valued agriculture and suppressed commerce. Daughters of merchants held a low status, and despite her talents, Shen Yao remained shackled by her identity as a merchant's daughter.

The story opens with the court's announcement of a new decree concerning tribute porcelain for the imperial kilns. The Imperial Kiln Selection, held once every three years, would now take place annually. And instead of the four families sharing the tribute porcelain commission, it would be awarded exclusively to the best. With this decree, the fragile balance between the four kiln families collapsed, and their overt and covert power struggles suddenly intensified.

Meanwhile, Shen Yao's father suffers a bizarre accident while delivering porcelain to the capital and falls into a coma with severe injuries. With the Shen family left leaderless, Shen Yao faces infighting from her stepmother and half-sister, the Zhao family taking advantage of their misfortune, and layers of exploitation by the local authorities. Forced to support the Shen family as a woman, Shen Yao embarks on a gripping struggle that takes her from Jingci Town to the capital, and from porcelain workshops to the halls of political power.
