Great Qin: Bound to the Nation's Destiny, I Become the First Emperor's Immortal Consort

[Qin Dynasty worldbuilding + mythical beasts and farming + ambiguous emperor-empress romance + adorable child + wish fulfillment]

Fox spirit Hu Jiuli, a nine-tailed fox, is on the verge of losing her form as spiritual energy dwindles in the Dharma-Ending Age. Her only chance of survival rests with Ying Zheng, who bears the destiny of an emperor spanning the ages.

To stay alive, she brings her four-and-a-half-year-old demon child, “Xiao Bao,” to the newly established Xianyang Palace.

At the time, Qin’s land is barren, its people hungry, and its treasury empty.

To repay Ying Zheng for saving her life with his dragon energy, Hu Jiuli casually “borrows” a few ancient relatives:

Vermilion Bird’s true flame can bake an unbreakable “divine cement.”

Black Tortoise’s divine strength can move mountains, fill seas, and divert the Heavenly River to irrigate thousands of acres of barren farmland.

Even Xiao Bao, who looks adorably clueless, can make barren land grow immortal grain with ten times the yield just by spitting on it!

The people of Qin hail her as “a goddess descended to earth.” The imperial treasury grows ever fuller, and Ying Zheng’s chronic headaches are cured under her care.

Just as everything falls into place, Hu Jiuli decides her work is done. She flicks her tail and prepares to run away with the child.

The heavy palace doors slam shut, trapping her before the imperial bed.

The young emperor approaches step by step and grips her chin, dark currents churning in his eyes. His voice is hoarse. “Empress, my headaches have yet to be cured.”

He lowers his head, his thin lips brushing her sensitive ear, his breath scorching. “This empire needs you. And I... need you even more.”
