Transmigrating into the Chongzhen Era: Changing Fate Starts with Sparing Wei Zhongxian

I transmigrated as the Chongzhen Emperor. When I opened my eyes, it was the seventh year of the Tianqi reign.

Everyone was waiting for the new emperor to kill Wei Zhongxian: the Donglin faction was waiting, the history books were waiting, and the Jianzhou Jurchens were waiting too.

But I refused to kill him.

Because Tianqi left a letter: Wei Zhongxian is the blade I raised to deal with the Donglin faction. If you break that blade, no one will be left to shield you from the civil officials' blades.

In this life, the eunuch faction will not die, and the imperial faction will not fall.

The Nine-Thousand-Year-Old will collect commercial taxes for me, control the Embroidered Uniform Guard, and silence the pure-minded officials filling the court.

Cao Wenzhao will train my troops, Sun Chuanting will manage my grain supplies, and not one name on the blacklist Tianqi left behind will escape.

They say the Ming Dynasty has run its course.

I say: On the twenty-fourth day of the eighth month of the seventh year of Tianqi, there will be no crooked-neck tree on Coal Hill.

There's still time. Everything can still be saved.
