I Called Off the Engagement and Married a Blind Woman, Then Made a Fortune at Sea

Good news: Chen Dinghai is reborn.

Bad news: From the start, he’s a gambling addict whose engagement has been called off. He’s married a half-blind woman with a child in tow, and he’s saddled with life-threatening loan shark debt.

The whole village has dragged out their little stools, waiting to watch him get dumped in the sea by the loan sharks three days from now.

But this guy doesn’t play by the rules. He plunges straight into the sea, and the whole story takes a wild turn!

Everyone else combs the shore for clams; he battles conger eels in the deep and hauls up an eight-pound spiny lobster! The whole village is green with envy!

A bully shows up to collect his debt; he pulls out a hundred-yuan bill and buys meat and grain for his lovely wife! The bully is left speechless!

His ex mocks his blind wife for being ugly; his wife puts on a new red dress, and her stunning beauty blinds the whole village! His ex is devastated!

Everyone: "Wait, you call him a gambling addict? This guy’s the King of the Sea!"

Chen Xiaomei (twisting with jealousy): "He must have stolen it! There’s no way he has that much money!"

Chen Dinghai (raising an eyebrow and sneering): (He whips out a receipt stamped with the Foreign Trade Bureau’s red seal.) "Open your damn eyes and take a good look!"

From then on, poverty has nothing to do with him, while the whole village spends every day green with envy.

But when he fishes up a box of gold bars that had been sleeping on the seabed for a hundred years, things get complicated...
