Migrant Worker

This book depicts the hidden, immense population whose members are struggling to survive during a period of social transformation in contemporary society. As urbanization advances, countless migrant workers leave their hometowns and spend long periods living apart from their spouses. Factors including physical health, emotional comfort, and financial pressure have given rise to this unusual kind of shared living arrangement between partners. Writing about them gives voice to the silent majority and carries significance as a sociological case study.
