A Peach Blossom Curse for the Uninsured

In the 1980s and 1990s, Zhao Mantun’s homestead and his status as a person receiving state support became the center of attention. The village Party secretary wanted to seize his land, so he teamed up with Zhang Guifang to set a trap and get Zhao Mantun to hand it over “willingly.” The women all had their own agendas: some sided with the Party secretary, while others helped Zhao Mantun. Zhao Mantun turned their rivalries to his advantage, protected his interests, and exposed the Party secretary’s corruption. In the end, Zhao Mantun got together with the woman who truly loved him, gave up his state-supported status, and began living a normal life.
