Purple smoke curled before her eyes. Looking at the boy so close by, she couldn't help but drift off again.
Now she was wearing clean clothes, someone was gently tending to her wounds, a fire burned in the hearth, and the room was warm and cozy.
She was happier than she had ever been.
Without thinking, she called out to the person before her:
“Mom...”
