Treasure Hunting in the South, Sheep Herding in the North: A Broken Book Leads to Hidden Treasure

[No System] [First Person] [Passionate Martial World] [Treasure Hunting]

In 2000, the wave of layoffs reached a small town in Chongqing. At twenty, I stood at the gates of the machinery factory with three thousand yuan in severance pay.

My father had died in a car accident years ago. My mother was bedridden and needed medication all year round. Our family's only source of income was gone.

Three days before the layoffs, I received an unsigned letter in the mail.

It contained just one line: "Your grandfather is still alive. If you want to find him, first solve the seven Mountain-Guarding Treasures."

I thought it was just a prank. My grandfather, Lin Shouyi, had disappeared while roaming the martial world before Liberation. For decades, no one had seen him alive or dead, and even Grandma had given up hope.

It was only when the medical bill was laid out on the table again, and I had nowhere else to turn, that I pried open the dusty camphorwood chest in the corner of the balcony.

Inside were only half a thread-bound old book, The Geography and Treasure Manual, half a piece of blue-green jade carved with mountain and river patterns, and a faded line of pencil writing between the pages:

Jinan Prefecture, Deshun Trading House, silver cellar.

To save my mother and find out what had happened to my grandfather,

I tucked the half-book into my pocket, took the half-piece of ancient jade, and boarded a slow train for the thirty-hour journey straight to Jinan.

But from the moment I dug up the silver cellar at Deshun Trading House, everything went off the rails.

The feuds among the thirteen families of the South and six of the North, the Black Ram Sect's relentless pursuit, a martial-world scheme spanning fifty years, and the earth-shattering secrets behind the seven Mountain-Guarding Treasures all unfolded before my eyes, layer by layer.

Some sought unimaginable riches through the Mountain-Guarding Treasures. Others risked their lives to uphold century-old rules.

My journey began in the silver cellar in Jinan. Step by step, I traveled across China to all seven veins of the land, searching for my missing grandfather and carving out my own path in the world of treasure hunters.
