One Day, Master Brought Home a Fox Girl

Lin Mo transmigrated three years ago. With mediocre talent, he was banished to the back mountain to guard graves, thinking he would spend the rest of his life keeping company with the dead.

Then, one stormy night, his master kicked open the door of the dilapidated shrine, carrying a little fox in a red bellyband. "Disciple, this is your junior sister from now on. A pureblood nine-tailed fox, won at a gambling house!"

Lin Mo: "??? Does this fox shed?"

At first, he thought he had latched onto a reclusive master, but it turned out his master was a stingy drunk, and his junior sister was a troublemaker who did nothing but eat and sleep.

Then one day, faceless figures crawled out of the mass grave on the back mountain, the Supreme Elder of Qingyun Sect bared his fangs, and a "Demon-Locking Order" that could drain the souls of demons appeared out of nowhere.

Only then did Lin Mo realize that his stingy master, who stole chickens and dogs every day, wielded sword intent capable of cleaving heaven and earth when he slapped an ancient Nascent Soul cultivator flying.

And the greedy little fox, on the night of the full moon, shed her childish appearance to reveal a phantom nine-tailed form capable of shaking the Immortal Realm.

"Kid, I didn't take you as my disciple to teach you how to cultivate immortality."

"I need you to help me save her."

When the entire sect became a demon-refining ground, Lin Mo finally understood:

The one he'd picked up wasn't a master, but an asura. The one he'd raised wasn't a pet, but an ancestor.
