A Three-Year-Old Can Travel Between Past and Present, and Her Hoard Fills the Granary in a Famine

[Connecting Past and Present + Everyone's Darling + Famine Years + Farming]

The little dumpling was only three and a half. Her parents were dead, and her three older brothers were so hungry they were chewing tree bark.

Everyone in the village was waiting to see when the four siblings would starve to death.

Then one day, the little dumpling found a glowing door beneath the ancient locust tree behind the village.

Inside were heaps of white rice, shelves lined with snacks, and a pile of "treasures" she couldn't make head nor tail of!

Big Brother: "...Tuanzi, where did you get this meat?"

The little dumpling answered in a babyish voice: "I-I found it in a tree hollow!"

Second Brother: "Don't ask. Just eat!"

Third Brother stared at a packet of instant noodles and fell into thought. "Why can I read all these words?"

From then on, life changed for the four Su siblings.

The villagers mocked them for being poor? The Su family ate white rice at every meal, with the smell of meat wafting through the air every few days.

Thugs tried to steal their fields? Too bad. The seeds Tuanzi brought back yielded ten times as much per acre.

A bully wanted to tear down their home? The three brothers could all fight, and each was tougher than the last. Were they sure they wanted to try?

Later, Big Mountain became the youngest owner of a trading house in town;

Second Tiger punched the local crime boss so hard he fell to his knees and begged for mercy;

Third Scholar excelled in the county and prefectural exams, dazzling everyone with his talent.

And behind it all was a little dumpling, grinning as she crawled out of the glowing door.

"Big brothers! Tuan Tuan brought back more good stuff!"

Three pairs of big hands reached out at once and lifted the little dumpling into their arms.

"Be good, Tuanzi. With your brothers here, no one can bully you."
