Chinese Showbiz: Those Years I Spent with Liu Xiaoli

[Chinese Showbiz] [No System] [Movies] [Director]

I, Xu, have traveled far and wide, making movies in countries all over the world and earning money on my own two feet. I owe it all to a knack for pulling the wool over people’s eyes, pulling off the impossible, and passing one thing off as another.

I’m Xu Xian, and I don’t believe in beating around the bush. I’m here to ask you to invest. And besides, I’m not interested in taking just anyone’s money.

Liu Xiaoli: “Then whose money do you want?”

Xu Xian: “I’ll take money from whoever’s got it. You’ve got money!”

Liu Xiaoli: “Director Xu, I like your style! See anything you want? Take your pick.”

Xu Xian shook his head. “I’m no Tiger of the Crime Squad. A director should make money fair and square.”

Liu Xiaoli: “If you’re in a hurry to make money, I do have an idea... In this industry, you can make money just by getting on your knees.”

Xu Xian: “On my knees? What’s that got to do with me, or with money?”

Liu Xiaoli: “Don’t tell me you still want to make money standing up?”

Xu Xian: “Obviously! I transmigrated. If I’m still making money on my knees, then what was the point of transmigrating?”

The first big delivery truck of 2002 arrived a little later than usual. Since Heaven had given Xu Xian another chance at life, he wanted to see the towering mountains and the vast deserts.
