The Lost Realm: Remember My Name

Lü Yuan died at the age of twenty-one.

After the funeral, he boarded a ship bound for the world of the dead.

The ferryman told him only one thing: if he wanted to stay, he would have to survive on his own.

But Lü Yuan soon discovered that “being alive” here was not what he understood it to be.

In a nameless old town, no one would acknowledge his name.

One person borrowed a name and was seen by their mother again; another lost their name, and even those closest to them gradually forgot them.

More absurd still, when two people who should never have vanished were left with only one name between them, everyone waited for them to decide who would disappear.

But Lü Yuan asked a question no one had ever asked:

“Why does one of us have to disappear?”

Only later did he learn that, in the Realm of the Dead, death was never the most frightening thing.

What was truly frightening was having no one left who could prove that you had ever existed.
