On My First Day as a Civilian, I Bought a Demon King as My Maid

Ash, the strongest hero in the history of the Holy Empire.

After “killing” the Demon King in the final battle, he saw how the empire’s leaders discarded those who had outlived their usefulness. He faked his death without hesitation and escaped to the frontier, where he opened a rundown tavern, hoping to spend his retirement fishing and raising cats.

To avoid doing any work, he bought a silver-haired, completely powerless good-for-nothing girl with a terrible temper from the black market and hired her as a waitress.

She could trip over nothing while carrying a tray, crush glasses while washing them, and yet was so proud and tsundere she would rather die than admit a mistake.

Ash thought he was taming a wild hedgehog, until one day the empire’s pursuers and rebel forces from the demon realm joined hands and attacked the town.

Looking at the countless troops outside, Ash sighed and reached for the holy sword gathering dust under his bed.

But then the good-for-nothing maid, who could barely carry a tray without falling, suddenly unleashed abyssal demonic energy powerful enough to destroy the world. Face red, she charged outside with a frying pan and roared:

“Anyone who dares interrupt dinner with Ash is dead, you pathetic insects!”

The countless soldiers outside instantly dropped to their knees and begged for mercy.

Ash: “???”

As he watched the Demon King’s horns form above the girl’s head, Ash fell deep in thought.

Wait, isn’t this the defeated Demon King I let escape all those years ago?
