Since ancient times, gods and demons have been sworn enemies.
Ten thousand years ago, the Divine Lord and the Demon Lord fought a decisive battle in the Nine Heavens. Both were gravely wounded and fell, and the heavens and earth mourned. The two races were forced to sign a truce.
No one knew that the two rulers had not truly perished. Their remnant souls were nurtured for ten thousand years by the reincarnation treasures of their respective races. Once they had recovered three souls and six spirits, each still missing one spirit, they were sent to the underworld to be reborn.
But the young King of Hell got drunk on the job and sent their life-scrolls to the wrong places.
The Divine Lord entered a demon’s womb, while the Demon Lord entered a god’s.
Thus, the demon race gained a glowing “good-for-nothing,” while the divine race gained a “freak” born with a dark spirit root. In their respective worlds, both were mocked, shunned, and treated as a disgrace.
Unwilling to accept their fate, they each set out on their own and met at the Chaos Academy, on the border between the immortal and demon realms.
One was cold, proud, and solitary; the other was bold and unruly. They couldn’t stand each other, yet were forced to team up. Along the way, they stumbled into bringing together a group of equally “misfit” companions: an exiled demon princess, a mute alchemist, a good-for-nothing with dual spirit roots, a spirit clan youth who could commune with spirits, and more.
They grew stronger through trials and learned to work together through life-and-death ordeals. When a light spirit root met a dark spirit root, and their powers first resonated, a **Taiji Domain** never before seen in heaven or earth was born.
Light and darkness were never truly opposites.
But just as the two began to approach the truth, memories from their past lives started to awaken, and a conspiracy hidden for ten thousand years came to light.
From the very beginning, the world-shattering war between gods and demons had not been the will of the two rulers.
The hand behind it all was far away, yet right before their eyes.
The Demon God’s Crossing is no trial to overcome, but a test of the human heart.
