The Wind Is Rising: The Goddess Must Return to Heaven and Set the Immortals Straight

[Xianxia Brainstorming * Absurd Comedy * Ensemble Cast]

After spending her whole life as the human world’s Crown Princess, the first thing she does upon returning to Heaven is whip the celestial workplace into shape.

The goddess has diligently governed the mortal realm for decades and has finally retired with honors. Returning to Heaven, she expects to enjoy a peaceful retirement, eating immortal peaches and walking her white tiger. Instead, she finds the celestial court has become even more ridiculous than when she left.

The guards at the Southern Gate are asleep, and monsters and demons are practically memorizing the address. The Department of Documents has three hundred years’ worth of paperwork piled up, while the Four Duty Officers have been enjoying a long game of chess in the hall. The alchemy workshop has exploded 999 times this month, and the Star Lord of Fire Virtue says they’ll get used to it.

As for the gods’ work reports? The last ones were submitted the year of the Queen Mother’s Peach Banquet.

The goddess stands in the Hall of Numinous Firmament, looking at the gods, all bleary-eyed, and smiles faintly.

If nothing else, decades of governing have made her a professional at reforming bureaucracy.

Three hundred years’ salary docked for being late. Quarterly reports must be at least three thousand words. The Southern Gate duty roster is getting redone. Anyone caught sleeping again will be sent to the mortal realm to teach for three hundred years.

The Jade Emperor’s teacup trembles three times. “...Want to take my seat?”

Without looking back, the goddess says, “Thanks for asking. I just retired, so please don’t bother me.”

Tuantuan is dragged out of bed to work overtime and cries in despair: [Is it still possible for me to run away?]

Too late. Gods, your KPIs are here.
