Transmigrated to the 1970S: My Husband Abused Me, So I Fought for a Divorce

In one moment, modern independent woman Li Xiuyu transmigrates into the bleak, impoverished 1970s and becomes the poor wife beaten to death by her husband. The original owner was a sacrificial pawn in a bride exchange, forced to marry into the Zhao family. Her husband, Zhao Dongsheng, is violent and spineless. He gets pushed around outside, then takes out his anger on his wife and children at home. Selfish and coldhearted, he sees their frail boy-and-girl twins as a burden and cruelly abandons them. The original owner desperately tries to protect her children, only to be beaten to death by him. When she opens her eyes again, it is Li Xiuyu, who has transmigrated into her body. When the scumbag tries to hit her again, she immediately overpowers him. To escape her hellish marriage, she takes her children and flees to her parents' home, asking only for a peaceful divorce and the chance to start over. But her family favors sons and cares obsessively about appearances. Worried about her brother's marriage and the neighbors' gossip, they show no concern for whether she and her children live or die. They not only refuse to stand up for her, but pressure her to return and keep enduring the beatings. Li Xiuyu's heart turns to stone. She decisively cuts ties with her family and struggles to survive on her own with her children. But in the 1970s, getting a divorce is almost impossible for a woman. Her in-laws pressure her, the whole village spreads rumors, and everyone thinks domestic violence is just a husband and wife bickering. They all urge her to endure it for the sake of the children. With no one to support her and no allies, she still refuses to give in. She fights back at every turn, and unexpectedly uncovers her husband's affair with a widow from the same village. She has seen countless women in the old days trapped in marriages, suffering in silence and spending their lives in bitterness, even driven to desperate ends. Li Xiuyu refuses to compromise. Independent and strong, she earns an honest living with her own skills. All she wants is to break free from her past, protect her two young children, and carve out a bright, open future for the three of them.
