I'm a Fake NPC, and I'm Keeping All the Quest Rewards!

No System, no female lead

A massive VR MMORPG called The Threshold suddenly arrives across the globe.

On launch day, Shen Yu is doing a quest when he jumps down from a high place, using an aerial basic attack to speed up his descent.

By sheer bad luck, he lands on and kills the herbal shop's NPC.

Just then, a player arrives to buy medicine. With no other choice, Shen Yu has to impersonate the NPC on the spot.

The bad news: if players discover he's a fake NPC, he could be killed at any moment.

The good news: the NPC shop lets him claim quest reward items meant for the endgame right away...

[Received the quest reward for “The Herbalist's Auntie's Son, the Calamity”: Unique Divine Artifact, Mask of Formlessness]

[Received the quest reward for “The Blacksmith's Grandpa's Coming-of-Age Gift for His Son”: Unique Divine Artifact, Heavy Soul-Slaying Blade]

[Received the quest reward for “The Seamstress's Big Surprise for Her Cousin”: Unique Divine Artifact, Big Sister's Love]

Just after leaving the starting village, the other players see Shen Yu standing on a crimson dragon, surrounded by glittering divine artifacts.

They look down at the coo-coo bird under their own saddles and their black iron gear, and fall into deep thought.

“What's the freaking point of playing this?”

“Bro, you get a divine artifact from the start? 666, this has to be a cheat. I'll eat my hat if it isn't.”

Later on, players flock to take the quests.

The players cry, “Seriously? We bust our backs completing the quests, and you don't even give us the rewards!”

Shen Yu looks at the divine artifacts filling his inventory and spreads his hands.

“I'm a fake NPC. Of course I'm keeping the divine artifacts for myself.”
