When the Rain Falls on Broken Bridge, I Meet You Again

Lin Mo woke up to find himself transmigrated into the Legend of the White Snake as Xu Xian.

With the entire plot in his hands, he was determined to rewrite the tragic ending of Leifeng Pagoda imprisoning the snake. He tried to avoid their first meeting by staying away from West Lake, removed every trace of realgar to prevent her from revealing her true form, and went to see Fahai early in hopes of dispelling his obsession. He planned every step, all to defy fate and change their lot.

But the world had its own rules for correcting the story: he fled to a ferry crossing east of the city, yet still ran into his fated encounter in the rain; he cleared all the realgar out of his home, yet a passerby still handed him wine that triggered a shocking transformation; he went up the mountain to reason with Fahai, only for Fahai to set his sights on Bai Suzhen even sooner, and the flood at Jinshan Temple arrived right on schedule. Every turning point within his grasp ultimately fell precisely back into the original story's path.

The thousand-year repayment of a debt of gratitude was actually a case of mistaken identity from a past life. Fahai's obsession concealed memories of a former life, Xiao Qing's feelings lay hidden beneath her sisterly devotion, and even the childhood sweetheart's love turning to hatred became a force that pushed the story back into place.

Later, he stopped trying to force a different ending. Instead, he built a small clinic beneath Leifeng Pagoda, spending twenty years by her side from dawn to dusk and sharing the ordinary joys of life.

When the rain falls on Broken Bridge and they meet again, though fate may be impossible to defy, he will give her a love that is unwavering from beginning to end, complete and free of suspicion.
