You’re a City Inspector, So Why Did You Make That Old Man Go Viral?

[A grassroots comeback] + [viral success] + [livestream face-slapping] + [tough city enforcement officer]

Lin Bei, a sports major, graduates straight into unemployment and ends up assigned to the worst city enforcement squad in town.

On his first day, his coworkers expect to see him chased three blocks by an old street vendor. Instead, he sits down on a little stool, buys two tea eggs, and chats with the old man about braising spice recipes while he eats. Ten minutes later, the old man packs up his stall and insists on making Lin his honorary grandson.

The video goes viral overnight, racking up tens of millions of views. He becomes the internet's hottest “city enforcement influencer.”

But going viral is only the beginning. Some people want to exploit his popularity, while others want to ruin his career. When the camera turns toward the darkness, the light can't back down.

Lin Bei says, “I'm just a city enforcement officer. I deal with injustice on these streets. If any of you have a problem with that, my body camera is on twenty-four hours a day. Come on, say it to the camera.”
