From the Start, Exiled to the Armored Battalion

He was a modern-day military enthusiast whose greatest wish before entering the game was to touch a real tank.

Once inside the game, his wish came true: he became the commander of the worst armored battalion in the entire empire.

Just how bad was it? The soldiers sold tanks as scrap, and the quartermaster reported scrap metal as brand-new vehicles.

The whole battalion waited to see how the young master would break down and cry.

Then he crouched in front of a “scrapped” tank, felt it over for ten minutes, and said, “Replace the bearing, and it’ll run.”

He checked a second one. “This one isn’t broken. Someone took the parts out.”

As he kept repairing them, he turned a cannon-fodder battalion into an elite force.

As he kept modifying them, he transformed tanks into steel monsters, and spread out blueprints for everything from aircraft to ships.

The big names on the empire’s list of famous generals went from looking down on him to fighting for the chance to serve as his deputy.

The war kept growing. A military enthusiast’s paradise had arrived.
