Zhao Chengyu, the sole successor to the reclusive Xuan Medical Sect, secretly spent ten years collecting rare prescriptions behind his master’s back before coming down from the mountain. He only wanted to honor the childhood betrothal arranged with the Su family, marry the beautiful CEO Su Xiaoran, and live a quiet life as her live-in son-in-law. But the moment he walks into the Su Group, a rich second-generation suitor of Su Xiaoran’s mocks him in public as a country bumpkin, while Su Xiaoran’s uncle tries to drive him out for his own gain. Just then, Su Xiaoran suffers a sudden flare-up of her hereditary illness. The renowned doctors present are all helpless, but Zhao Chengyu cures her on the spot with three needles, and gives the arrogant rich kid a face swollen like a pig’s in the process. Su Xiaoran immediately goes back on her decision to break off their engagement and proposes they register their marriage. Before long, a famous actress visiting to discuss a business deal, a beautiful hospital director, and an heiress from a prominent family all come looking for him, lining up to marry him. From then on, Zhao Chengyu saves lives with his silver needles and keeps bullies in check with his martial arts. A master of both medicine and martial arts, he makes his way through the city, winning the hearts of countless beautiful women and enjoying a thrilling rise from “live-in son-in-law” to urban legend!
