After the Childless Officer Called Off the Engagement, She Announced Triplets

After traveling back to the 1960s, Shen Zhiyi married Gu Huaichuan, a cold-faced battalion commander who had been judged unlikely to have children because of an old injury. The Gu family had been all men for nine generations, and everyone was certain their line would end with him. But in the second year of their marriage, she gave birth to twin girls and a boy. Outside the delivery room, dozens of Gu men were moved to tears. Later, ten children crowded their little courtyard. Battalion Commander Gu led his troops by day, then queued up to do his daughters’ hair at night, all while quietly asking his wife, “Could you save half the bed for me tonight?”
