The Hunter Hunts the Kingdom

The stubborn old soldiers will fight to the death!

The Great Wen Dynasty rules through the civil officials, while border threats never cease.

Zhao Shiyuan was a hunter, but when his landlord came demanding payment, he was forced to join the army.

He was assigned to the most remote outpost on the frontier: Weiwu Fort.

One battered blade. Thirty old soldiers.

Everyone said the fort couldn’t be defended.

Zhao Shiyuan didn’t agree.

To him, defending a city was just like hunting:

You watch your prey carefully, wait for it to show a weakness, then cut its throat with one stroke.

So he waited.

He waited for an elite force to attack across the snow, and defeated them against the odds;

he waited for a night raid on the enemy camp, and outsmarted their commander;

he waited for a mutiny demanding that corrupt officials be purged, and took sole command of the north;

he waited for the Liao and Jin to form an alliance, then wiped them out in a single battle.

At last, the day he had waited for arrived.

Standing on the shore of the North Sea, with a million Qian troops behind him and the last of the Jin royal blood beneath his feet, he turned to his generals and said:

“I’ve hunted down all the kingdoms of the north.”
