Joining the Army in the Seventies: I Transmigrate and the Regiment Commander Immediately Pressures Me to Marry

On her eighteenth birthday, Jiang Yutang had just cut into her cake when, in the blink of an eye, she fell out of the modern world and landed in the year 1976, right in the arms of a strange man.

He wore a military uniform and had a terrifyingly cold look in his eyes. He grabbed the hand holding her cake knife, and his first words were, “No household registration, no letter of introduction, and you still dare show up in my room. If someone finds you, how are you going to explain yourself?”

Jiang Yutang thought she’d run into a thug taking advantage of her situation, until he avoided everyone else and correctly identified “transmigration” and “spatial storage.”

Lu Zheng came from a prominent military compound in the capital. At twenty-seven, he was a regimental commander with real authority. No one knew that he housed the soul of a man who had fought his way out of the apocalypse, or that he possessed lightning powers and a storage space filled with supplies.

He gave Jiang Yutang two choices: submit to an isolation inquiry, or marry him under a contract, letting him take care of her identity.

Jiang Yutang gritted her teeth and signed the agreement. “As soon as my identity is settled, we divorce. Whoever goes back on their word is a dog.”

Later, everyone in the military housing compound saw the famously stern Commander Lu hand over his savings passbook with both hands, and return from a mission only to crouch by the stove and light a fire for his wife.

Someone asked when their agreement would expire.

Lu Zheng slipped their marriage certificate into his breast pocket and replied without batting an eye, “The agreement can expire, but we’re not getting divorced.”
