Breaking the Cage: The Martial Age

More than a hundred years ago, monsters took over the wilderness, forcing humanity to retreat to fortified cities.

Jiang Ye grew up under the slur “son of a traitor.” To uncover the truth behind his parents’ disappearance, he accepts a mission from the Defense Bureau, moves into a safe house, and becomes the personal bodyguard of Shen Xingmian, the school’s most famous cool beauty.

On the first night of the mission, a monster breaks down the door.

After Jiang Ye kills it, a panel appears before his eyes, visible only to him. Killing monsters can earn him attributes, and elite monsters can even drop skills.

Shen Xingmian is hiding two secrets of her own.

Her body constantly sends the monsters her location. And deep within her consciousness lives a silver-haired imperial princess who fled from the stars.

The princess tells Jiang Ye that Blue Star is no ordinary disaster-stricken planet. It is an evolution farm where a higher civilization raises humans. The monsters force people to grow stronger. Once the strongest are mature, the farm will descend and take away everyone’s strength and life.

Jiang Ye’s parents weren’t traitors.

They were simply the first to uncover the truth, and the first to try to smash this cage.

Now the monsters, the infiltrators, and the harvesters in the stars have all set their sights on Jiang Ye and Shen Xingmian.

Jiang Ye simply tightens his grip on the knife in his hand.

If killing monsters lets him grow stronger without limit, then it’s time for this farm that has raised humanity for over a hundred years to get a new owner.
