A Powerhouse Among Villains, but Always Being Watched

My name is He Zhuo. I'm a black panther half-beastman.

My older brother is He Zhang, the youngest warden in the organization. He says I'm the sharpest blade, and I think he's right.

When I was twelve, an experiment went out of control, and I almost died. When I woke up, I'd forgotten a lot, but I still remembered that I had a brother, an instructor who taught me, and a friend who carried a teddy bear plushie.

When I was sixteen, I was sent to a righteous academy. They said I was going undercover, and I believed them.

With a bellyful of bad intentions, I was ready to give those sanctimonious people a little taste of villainous shock.

Then I met a birdman who could really fight. After our fight, he slung an arm around my shoulder and took me out to eat. I met a girl who looked like a little white rabbit but could kick my sunglasses right off with one leg. I met a nouveau riche guy covered in rings who hugged my thigh and called me big brother.

I also met an instructor with a temper harder than his fists. He grinned and said, "Kid, you're interesting."

Later, I completed my mission and prepared to go home. But those people went crazy.

The birdman blocked my way and said we should die together. The rabbit girl grabbed me and said she was hurting. The nouveau riche guy cried as he threw money around to put out a bounty, saying he had to find his big brother. The instructor personally led the pursuit, saying he would teach me what regret meant.

Wait.

Wasn't I the villain?

Why are these righteous people crazier than one another?

Only later did I learn that some debts can't be escaped just by going home.

When those chains were locked around me, I didn't struggle free.

P.S. The protagonist suffers intensely in the early part of the book.
