Three-Year-Old Lucky Charm: The Whole Village Feasts with My Family

[Adorable child, farming, good fortune, family darling, everyday family life, the whole family gets rich, fleeing famine and settling down, food, feel-good, historical romance for women]

The poorest family in Xinghua Village, the Jiangs, take in a three-and-a-half-year-old girl.

The little girl is Jiang Fubao. Wearing a patched jacket and clutching a battered wooden spoon, she says in a babyish voice, “Daddy, there’s sweet water on the back hill.”

The whole village laughs that the Jiang family must be crazy from poverty.

But when Jiang Pa takes a swing with his hoe, he uncovers a mountain spring.

Jiang Ma casually makes flatbreads so delicious that even the county magistrate joins the queue.

The eldest brother discovers a talent for studying, the second brother finds treasures while hunting, and the third sister sells her embroidery all the way in the capital.

Even the Jiang family’s old yellow dog, so skinny it’s losing its fur, manages to bring home ginseng.

From then on, the Jiangs farm, open shops and workshops, build roads and schools, and turn their impoverished mountain village into a nest of gold and silver.

Jealous relatives come to steal Fubao’s good fortune?

Fubao blinks. “There’s black smoke over the bad people’s heads.”

A bully tries to steal their secret recipe?

Fubao points with her little hand. “Your silver is hidden under the chicken coop.”

Important people from the capital come to claim her as family?

Fubao clings to Jiang Pa. “I already have a mom and dad.”

Before long, everyone under heaven knows that the Jiang family has a little lucky charm.

When she smiles, barren fields become fertile.

When she cries, bad people suffer misfortune.

When she speaks, the Jiang family is about to get rich.
