I Uphold Federal Law: I’ll Clean House Back Home and Rise to the Top

Wang Ling transmigrates to Nanwang Town in the Federation and becomes a trainee law enforcement officer. Here, human lives are worth less than grass, and powerful clans run everything. The law is nothing but a fig leaf for the powerful. In court, the common people kneel in rows, crying, “Honorable magistrate, please deliver justice!” He draws his gun and fires into the air. “Stand up. No kneeling!” A central government notice announcing a crackdown on organized crime is posted on the door. Xu Laosan, the underground emperor of Nanwang Town, laughs. “The emperor is too far away to care. They’re just putting on a show.” Xu Laosan doesn’t know the truth. Wang Ling’s mentor is at the heart of the government. His imperial sword of authority is real. More importantly... From the moment Wang Ling fires his gun, something awakens within the brick walls of the Nanwang Town courthouse. For the first time, the ghosts of all those wrongly killed over the past thirty years hear someone speak up for them. In the end, Wang Ling stands in the Federation’s highest court, facing the financial magnates who have held the country in their grip for three hundred years. The other side says, “You would put the founders of the Federation on trial?” Wang Ling opens the law book. “The Federation was founded by the people. The powerful clans are merely history. And history cannot stand above the law.”
