The Happy-Go-Lucky Fool Who Fishes for Seafood

In 1984, in Luowan Village in western Guangdong, Chen Chaoshen, a demobilized soldier, was left mentally impaired by a head injury. His fiancée broke off their engagement, and his whole family was bullied. After he fell into a sea cave and nearly died, he unexpectedly gained the Tidal Fishing Art, which let him sense every aquatic treasure in the surrounding waters and accurately predict tides and storms. Golden snails, giant grouper, antiques from sunken ships, silver coins from the seabed... Once the tide goes out, money is everywhere! The charming widow Zhao Yueniang throws herself into his arms, village beauty Lin Qiaoshan secretly flirts with him, Zhou Ruoqing, the female head of the town's aquatic products station, blurs the line between business and pleasure, and Gu Zhilan, a rich young lady from the provincial capital, offers herself to him... One stunning beauty after another comes his way. From a foolish beachcomber to a ten-thousand-yuan household, from a small fishing boat to an ocean-going fleet, from Luowan Village to the provincial capital's business world, Chen Chaoshen makes money with one hand while gathering seafood with the other. He'll make everyone who looked down on him beg for mercy! Beachcombing brings wealth, and women come into his arms. Between the rise and fall of the tides, he builds a business empire spanning land and sea!
