Blood and Iron on Shangganling: Soldier King Jiang Cheng

[Korean War + Based on a True Hero + Battle of Triangle Hill + First-Class Merit Recipient Jiang Cheng + Tough Veteran + This Is a Real King of Soldiers]

November 1952, Hill 537.7 at Triangle Hill. The position was no wider than a winnowing basket. Enemy planes circled and dived overhead, while shells rained down.

Jiang Cheng lugged his machine gun into a crater, looked up, and fired a burst at a diving enemy plane. “When it dives, I shoot for the nose. When it’s in the middle, I shoot for the fuselage. When it’s at the back, I shoot for the tail!”

An enemy plane went down trailing black smoke.

The next second, shrapnel tore open his lower right abdomen, and his intestines spilled out, pale and glistening. He glanced down, grabbed them, shoved them back into his belly, tied a bandage around himself, and kept pulling the trigger.

For 11 days, the unit had neither food nor water. His was the only machine gun in the entire battalion still firing.

More than 400 enemies fell to his gun.

Think this is a movie? This legend really happened at Triangle Hill.
