The Bald Monk's Forty-Second Book

After being laid off, 39-year-old product manager Li Yuanyi huddles in his rented room, waiting for the mortgage payments to finish him off. Then, in a dream, he meets his grandfather, who died fifteen years ago, and learns one feng shui technique after another, each of which must be tested in the real world. Reading qi, finding the right direction, arranging objects: every adjustment costs money, favors, time, and sometimes even his life. Scammers, tycoons, the old mystic sect, and cold algorithms close in one after another. Only when the journal reads “the seventh time” does he realize that the one teaching him in his dreams may not be his grandfather.
